Summary: Elizabeth Weir, CEO of Atlantis Tech, never backs down, but when she meets up with the CEO of Daedalus, Elizabeth begins to realize that maybe if she can't beat them, she can join them.

Elizabeth Weir stood in the board room, her back turned to the large table as her PA, Chuck, set out the briefing notes on the company's newest tablets. She had gotten rid of paper ages ago but no one had this version yet. It was a nice perk for working for the top tech company in the world. But this would change everything. This was her time. Everyone filed in and took their seats as she smiled and sat down.

"Good morning. How are the numbers?"

Richard Woolsey, her Chief Financial Officer pulled up his reports and smiled. "We're still ahead for the quarter by at least 20 percent. Daedalus, however, has gained since last year this time."

"They must be getting serious. Have we heard anything about their plans?" Elizabeth asked.

Evan Lorne, a long standing member of the board, looked up at her. "Rumors have it that they have a similar product to the X-1 in production. I haven't been able to get my sources to reveal how far along they are. It's classified to the highest of the high."

Elizabeth frowned. "How soon can we have the X-1 ready?"

Rodney McKay, her top scientist scowled. "I believe we could possibly have them ready in the next month. But I would rather not rush."

"Well, would you rather their design trumps yours?" Elizabeth asked icily.

Rodney sighed and shook his head. "How could you ask me that? You know I don't!"

"Then do what you need to do. I authorize you to do whatever is needed," Elizabeth told him, determined to win.

Rodney lightened up with that. "Just what I wanted to hear."

Elizabeth shared a long suffering look with Evan. "Anything else I should be aware of?"

"I don't think so, Ma'am. We're still ahead of the curve and sales are up. If we get the X-1 out first, we'll continue to have the edge. The military applications of it are astronomical," Marshall Sumner told her.

"Have we spoken to the Pentagon?" Elizabeth asked.

"I have. I heard General O'Neill himself is very interested in the widespread application of the X-1," Marshall assured her.

"Thank you. Well, gentlemen and ladies. Let's get started," Elizabeth said, dismissing everyone.

It was late and all Elizabeth wanted was to have a nice drink, loosen up, maybe dance a little, and then go home. Just have a moment of not being Elizabeth Weir, CEO of Atlantis Tech and maybe just be Liz. She had to laugh at herself. How very typical of humanity to want more and more out of an already full and fulfilling life. She wasn't struggling and she could be much worse off, considering.

"I didn't expect to see you here," A male voice said behind her.

Elizabeth turned and smirked. "Well, well. Steven. Buy me a drink?" she asked, being forward.

"I'm surprised at you, Liz," Steven told her, offering his elbow as she slipped her hand through.

"Well, I'm going to get you drunk and steal all your secrets," Elizabeth told him.

"Isn't that how we got into trouble when we were back at the SGC?" Steven asked.

Elizabeth blushed. "Well, we were younger then."

Steven sat her down at a table as he ordered them some drinks. "You're no less beautiful than you were then."

Elizabeth blinked. "Steven..."

"No tricks," Steven said, holding up his hands. "I know we're rivals. But seriously. You don't know how hard it was when you left."

Elizabeth thinned her lips. "I didn't think about you... I'm sorry."

Steven sighed. "It's ok, Elizabeth. We both didn't think much."

"That's for sure," Elizabeth told him with a chuckle. "So, how is your new project?"

"Oh, you heard about that?" Steven said as the waitress came and left their drinks with a smile. Once they were alone, he leaned closer. "I suppose you'd like to know?"

"Of course I want to know."

"I'll share if you share," Steven said, swirling the whiskey in his glass.

Elizabeth thinned her lips and took a sip of the brandy he had ordered for her. Old habits died hard. "I have a feeling you already know," she told him.

Steven looked over his glass at her. "So, a robot?"

"Indeed. The same?" Elizabeth asked.

"I could lie to you," Steven told her.

"You never could lie to me," Elizabeth told him, tracing her finger over the rim of her glass.

"No. No, I can't," Steven admitted. "Us as well. Military application?"

Elizabeth nodded. "That was the only way to get funding..."

"You never wanted to do that before," Steven said, looking at her.

"I had a change of mind," Elizabeth told him, looking shy.

"I'd be interested in a merger."

Elizabeth looked at him, shocked. "You're not serious."

"We can't compete," Steven told her. "Plus... I've missed you. I've missed every part of you."

Elizabeth met his eyes. "We never... I always wanted to get closer."

"I want to still," Steven said. "I've spent a lot of time denying my feelings and I just want to be with you. No more of this one upping each other bullshit."

Elizabeth smiled and leaned forward, kissing him deeply.

Elizabeth Weir and Steven Caldwell strode across a stage together, followed by their projects. The X-1 and C-6, both fully humanoid model robots. The X-1 Model was tall with sandy brown hair and blue eyes. He was dressed in fatigues and moved smoothly with an underlying strength. The C-6 Model was tall and lanky with a tuff of black hair, green eyes and a smirk. He was dressed in a futuristic uniform and moved almost lazily. They stood to the side as Elizabeth approached the microphone to introduce their new Military and Civilian Android models.
