Claire and I have been running SG:A Santa for six years now, and while it's occasionally been hard work, we've always appreciated the generosity of spirit and sheer joy that people bring to the exchange, from the people who participate, to those who pinch hit and those who don't write but who take the time to leave feedback for our authors. You've always made it fun and always been positive and upbeat about the exchange, treating each other with respect and kindness (at least publically :)). We sincerely appreciate the fact that you've all been full of the Christmas spirit, even if the present that you got under the tree wasn't exactly what you wanted Santa to bring, and we love you all ♥.

Unfortunately, there is always one rotten apple who tries to spoil it for everyone.

For the first time ever, Claire and I have just had to ban someone for their behaviour. And not just from sga_santa. No, they're banned from everything we run in the history of forever. (Never let it be said we are not righteously vengeful when the situation calls for it.)

Trolling other authors taking part in the exchange is both seriously uncool and utterly unacceptable. Doing it the way this person did? Spectacularly stupid.*

Having just discovered this comm in the last few months I have to thank everyone who has ever participated and to you both for running it since now I have six years worth of fic to happily catch up on. And the fact you've only run into one troll in that time is an amazing thing and a shame that they broke your perfect record on that front.

That's just terriable and good job on sorting this out quickly as you could.

Always just had to have one troll to spoil it and after prefect record of running this for six years!

This was my first year taking part and I've really enjoyed it, reading so many awesome stories and a few that I normally won't read (Mpreg for one) and ended up reading them and hugely enjoyed it so much!

Trolling isn't something you can do accidentally. They're not anti-heroes or whatever Encyclopedia Dramatica claims (as they're trolls themselves). They're just irritants who think it's cool to create sock accounts to leave inflammatory comments intended to upset people because they're bored.

I swear, no matter how old some people get, they never managed to grow up. What a serious lack of self-esteem is required to behave so atrociously.

A bravo to our wonderful mods...the amount of work that has to be done to make this such a amazing comm is a lot more than I realized. I found out how much work goes into a weekly icon contest when I subbed at johnshepp_itest. This, has to be a lot worse.

So kudos to you and good riddance to the troll. Sad to have to resort to that kind of action but commendable that you did.

I commend all the authors on a job well done and send "BIG HUGS" to the mods that run this comm. I love to read and anyone that can't follow the old adage of " if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" should be banned.

I score bonus points: it's that scene where they're in the parking lot and it's that skinny woman who's really funny and the younger girls are nasty and they say yes, but we're older and have more insurance and I can't quite remember if they rammed their car or not but that was definitely suggested.

I couldn't put a name to the movie but I do remember the scene. They are in the car park and someone nicks their car parking space and yes Icarusancallon they do ram the car. That is why the comment about the car insurance comes up in response to the other driver.

It is one of the coolest scenes ever and I'm sure it has spoken to the inner desires of many a driver.

As for the community, I cant believe that someone could be like that. I know that trolls exsist and they are the most annoying creatures in the netverse. BUT I couldn't believe that someone would do it here.

As for the SGA santa, thank you for all you hard work. And I really wish you hadn't give me the shock that you did this morning. I thought you were going to say you were giving up. :D

Well, nuts to the troll, but this gives us another opportunity to say thank you to the mods, and that's all to the good. I missed taking part in SGA Santa last year, for which stupidity on my part for not checking when it had opened I only had myself to blame. I had been saving this years stories for when I really needed a fantastic SGA boost, so I was very surpirsed to find this post.

I'm shocked that someone could come to a place like this, a place that is all about giving a gift to another person, and receiving something back that is probaly completely different from what you expected but in a fabulouly good way, just to stir up trouble. For the sake of being a supremely obnoxious git I suppose. I can only appluad your swift and mighty vengence and really hope they felt the sting of your mature and yet fabulously covered (insurance-wise) ire.

And to ensure I don't miss taking part this year any clue as to when the 2011 SGA Santa will be open for business
