First of all, I'm not sure why this story doesn't have 100+ comments. Four doesn't do it justice!
This story was very gripping, and it held my attention (and kept me up way too late last night!!! ::grin::). You weaved a great, compelling story here that grabs the reader from the first paragraph, not letting them go until the end of the story.
A few things I adored - John's reaction was breathtakingly heartbreaking. I mean, who *wouldn't* retreat when the love of their life was killed before their eyes? And Keyla... I loved that John instantly had that connection to her, before he even knew it was Rodney's and his child. And her seeking John out, knowing how to hack - because she's Rodney's daughter. And Rodney - aww, Rodney... I love that man so... And when they finally get together, and John hold Rodney, running his finger along the cesaerean scar... Just wonderful!
If I had one critique, it would be that early on in the first 1/3 of the story or so, there's a "there" that should be a "their". That's it! :)
Overall, I have to say this is probably my favorite Santa offering this year! Santa, I hope you join again next year, and I'm lucky enough to be your recipient!!!
