I'm so glad you like this. I enjoyed writing it. It was fun to postulate what Jeannie's younger years might have been like. I like her and think she's vastly underused in fic. My m-i-l kept diaries until her death at 91 and we've been reading some of the early ones, which provided the inspiration.
I admit I'm very tempted to write 'The Physicist and the English Professor' at some stage :)
