dingochow here-- thank you very much for the lovely present I found in my internet stocking this morning.
As an opera fan myself, I suppose I should chide your Radek and Evan for whispering during the performance. (Radek certainly knows better -- it's a sure sign that he's completely crazy about his date.) If I had been sitting behind them I would have been tempted to mutter "Oh, please, get a room!" under my breath, and possibly poke them, accidentally, with my program. But the intoxicating early stages of love must win out, and I'm sure I would have been happy for them when they disappeared during the second act.
Seriously, this is a very nice little piece of first time romance, all hot and sweet. I really like the bit of angst you mix in, that bittersweet flavor, and the way you lead the reader to wonder with Radek who has hurt Evan in the past. And of course we have to assume that the call back to Atlantis means that the happy ending is at hand, or at least the fresh start that Evan longs for.
Well done, and thank you for the tasty holiday treat!
thank you so much!
