I don't know why John noticing Vala stealing his watch and not wanting her to give it back is so utterly charming to me, but it totally is.
John didn't know who had spilled the beans, but his money was on Bill Lee. They'd bonded over being divorced guys in their forties whose usual hot Friday dates were with video games. Bill had backed away fast after the Vala thing, like suddenly John was living the high life and didn't need the distraction of friendship.
Poor Bill. :3 It's too bad Woolsey is a whole galaxy away, or they could be bros.
