Atlantis *has* to be getting a little weird after all this time, you know? And Rodney is well aware of his limitations -- sometimes. Other times? Not so much.
On the two gates issue, Rodney answered that in "Enemy At The Gates," when he talked about having to write an override for the Atlantis gate to allow it to work in the same system as the Colorado gate. He said something about having to do the same thing for the Midway station, which had a Milky Way gate on one end and a Pegasus gate on the other end.
