Wow, thank you for your insightful review. I'll try my best to answer your questions.
I think John had a sort of knee jerk reaction to the news of Rodney wanting to have an abortion. He felt betrayed by Rodney's way of just going ahead and making the decision of getting an abortion all by himself. Yes, the thing that happened with Nacy and that Rodney most probably didn't know about plays into his reaction as well, but I (like John *wink*) think, that since no-one gets pregnant all by themselves, the decision whether or not to keep a child should be at least discussed between both parties. Of course the ultimate decision lies with the one who has to carry the child in the end but I really do think that John would have deserved to get to know about it in another way and Rodney should have talked to him.
Of course I also see Rodney's side. he is scared. He most probably never wanted to carry a child himself. I highly doubt he knows just how much John loves him and that John would have liked to have that child with him, no matter what. He was also scared that the child would not be human. Or that they all got pregnant by some whacko ancient device. Those are all valid fears but once again something he should have discussed with John. John in turn should have taken Rodney's fears seriously, which he might have done had Rodney not hit him over the head with saying pretty much "I am pregnant but am getting an abortion without having talked to you first".
Yes, it is all very complicated and the communication between the two is seriously off.
WHY exactly Rodney did what he did in the end really could only be explained from his POV, but I wanted to stick with John for this story. But maybe look at it like this, now you can imagine all of his reasons for yourself. *grin*
