This was an amazing story transposing our intrepid crew to another time and place. [Which BTW I find fascinating, seeing how SGA can fit so fluidly into the most unusual scenarios.] But, OMG, the way you describe the slightly scandalous nature of having a woman perform as a soloist reminds me of the narrow-mindedness of organizations such as the Vienna Philharmonic. Not to mention the presumption/assumption that, if the music produced between a man and woman is passionate, there must be an indiscreet relationship (!!!!!) between them.
I was thrilled to see how Rodney would re-engineer a piano to respond to his exacting control over it. And I had to giggle, because there just happened to be one concert I played when I snapped the E string on my violin (and had to do an awful lot of stratospheric climbing on the A string to compensate). So it was very visceral to have those old wires defying Rodney.
There is something so revealing that music ought to be honest each time; obviously not something a by-the-book conductor would admire (and would actually be threatened by).
Thank you for the highly visual and aural adventure that has left me completely satisfied!

Ohhhhhh, yes! Three words that just ARE Rodney.
