Oh yay a new story from you! What a great new years' present! Loved the story... especially the vivid descriptions of the pain Sheppard was feeling. You did a very good job of describing it in a new and unusual way. I totally was reminded of my recent bout of illness and the warped preceptions I had and the way my mind would wander off in random directions. Really good story, congrats. -- Shiloh.
