I like how you mixed the past and the present for John and that sometimes he couldn't tell if it is the past or the present.
I like the backstory you gave John here: That Holland was there for him when Mitch and Dex died and that Mitch and Dex were there when Johnson died. And, it made me sad to know that nobody was there for him when Holland died.
