Author's Notes: I did a lot of peeking about my recipient's journal to get an idea of her preferences, so I hope this hits all your buttons, darling! Set post season 5 for SGA and up to episode 10 of season 2 for "Merlin", a retelling of Arthurian Legend centered on a young Merlin, reluctant manservant to the prattish Prince Arthur, and maturing sorcerer in a kingdom where magic is outlawed and difference scorned.
Summary: "I am Prince Arthur of Camelot!" the boy in the chainmail said. For a small, infinitesimal moment, Rodney considered losing it.

"Right, Prince Arthur, the Prince Arthur," Rodney scoffed instead. "And I'm Merlin."

The dark haired boy that stood a few paces behind his golden Prince cleared his throat. "Uh, no," he said, shifting uneasily from foot to foot, "Actually, I am."

Right, of course. Because this totally was Rodney's life.

Great fic!
And while I am vaguely familiar with the show Merlin, I am not a fan at all, but I loved loved this fic! Rodney and John were so awesome together and I really loved the way you wrote Rodney's thought processes. And yay team indeed! I loved the teamness showed here, especially when Arthur was jealous of what they shared.

And I loved the Merlin /Myyrdin plots here and the give and take between him and Arthur.

So even as a non-fan of Merlin I enjoyed this. Awesome you wrote this!

i love how arthur learns to respect other people's customs... he really is the regal sovereign that deserves merlin's loyalty. and oh merlin, so sweet and yet so powerful. i loved it when he was decending into angst when arthur found out about his magic... but then he got a rodney mckay buck-up special. "grow a spine!" indeed. oh rodney, never change. ilu. and i love your john too. i love the image of them laughing and kissing. eeeeeeee.

Finally working my way through the sga_santa stories and this was a gem. I really enjoyed how you intertwined both canons and gave it a plot and true voices for everyone. Spot on and worked really as a crossover.
