Things I'd like: Okay, so most of what I have read is McShep, and that tends to be where I go when writing, but I'm not a total OTPer in this regard. I like McShep, but if the muse takes you some other direction entirely, don't fret, let's say? I like kidfic and MPreg, which does not by any means mean I require either, and I never want anyone to write something that squicks them to please me. I like AUs and fusions and crossovers (and am more than happy to tell you about other fandoms/universes I love via whatever anony-keeping method the mods prefer), but am perfectly happy to receive regular team-goes-on-a-mission fic. I like slash, but I also like het if you prefer. There is no major character (anyone who recurs more than, say, eight or ten times) that I would explicitly dislike to read, and again, if your muse goes bananas and decides that that this prompt requires you to write Zelenka spanking Ronon as told to Ronon's diary (shortest. fic. ever. ...unless Ronon has a lot more to say to his diary than everyone else), or Carson and Elizabeth comparing erotic dreams every Saturday over lunch, hey, just convince me, okay?

Background relationships and complications and people are good, unless the fic is set such that there is no one else to interact with (e.g., it takes place over the course of an hour with two people locked in a room), which is not to say everyone needs to have a place in this fic.

I like porn, and smut, and kink, and I also like happy lovey not-so-smutty domesticity and friendship and depending on each other and being able to depend on each other. I love when an author takes an insane premise and then thinks about it and writes fic that is not insane following from it (again, I am happy to elaborate). I like hurt/comfort, complex relationships, nontraditional relationships (e.g., stable triads, relationships in which one partner has a previous partner who is highly present in their life and not just as like, parent of shared child), relationships being rebuilt or remade or totally reshaped after a major drama (examples which are not necessarily prompts: someone coping with a partner cheating (during which you convince me this is plausible anyway), or a couple having decided to try a threesome and found themselves afterward not happy with this decision, or a couple dealing with some significant life change that messes with their patterns of interaction), fic involving families and the problems they have (and the many ways in which people make and are given families and what those different kinds of family mean and the ways in which they can be helps or hindrances or both), and, moving into the shallow, shoulders, triceps, muscles in general and the appreciation thereof (this is not limited to the pretty shoulders of boy characters). I like smart fic that talks about canon, or talks about problems, but I also am happy to read something non-deep. I like most of the kinks folks are likely to explore, but also like plain old cuddling if there is sex, and plain old claps on the shoulder if we're being all military. I like military types needing help and someone else knowing them well enough to give it even if they don't ask and even if they pretend they didn't need it.

If you would like prompts, I usually like to just toss out some words and you go do what you like with some or all of them (or not!) --I swear I have nothing specific in mind. So, prompt words: interminable, spout, currency, alter, dimple.

Things I wouldn't like: I am very unsold on the Rodney/Jennifer as presented in canon, and was previously unsold on the Rodney/Katie. This doesn't mean you can't write these, but does mean you will first have to make them plausible and fleshed-out and stuff.

I often have a hard time buying the type of AU which is like, "canon through X and then not any more," (e.g., through season 3 and then ignoring the rest), largely because I prefer an AU to be a matter of a single specific change and then how that all ripples out into the rest of what goes on, if that makes any sense.

If you're going to write the mission commander (any of them) in a relationship with anyone, then please don't ignore the chain of command and power issues inherent. Actually, generally don't ignore power differential problems. It's okay to write fic in which there is such a relationship, just I want you to deal with it. Same with other major problem things--infidelity, the fact Pegasus has one race that eats another, you know--don't just pretend it's fine, which is different from the characters pretending things are fine in order to get along; I hope that makes sense. Hm. Generally don't character-bash; I said I am not sold on Rodney/Jennifer, which is not the same as I dislike Jennifer, and even if I did, I'm not so fond of making her a complete bitch in order to facilitate Rodney going a different way because I imagine he can decide a path without any such push. Please don't write a lot of unrelenting misery and pain unless you are writing some sort of really smart dystopia, and even then, um, I like some relenting with my pain.

I'm going to assume no one writes scat, necrophilia or emetophilia for an exchange without being specifically asked for it.

Hm. Okay, and this is super-specific, but: omniscient narrators are fine; shifting or rotating POVs are fine; random forays into a non-POV-character's mind (that is, we are in Bob's head for 4300 words and then in Mike's for two sentences) is really distracting to me.

What I can do: I wouldn't count on my writing anything other than McShep as a primary pairing, as it seems to be what I default to.

What I can't do: pointless pain, humiliation for sport, wraith POV, involved battle-type scenes, and I never know whether or not smut will transpire in this fandom.

Pinch hitter?: I can't answer this question yet. Maybe. I tend to do well under pressure, but I have no idea how December will be unfolding this year.
