alyseCan I please ask those 15 or so people whose stories are still outstanding to please, when submitting:
i) send the file in a universal format that is easy for anyone to open, like plain text. Unfortunately I've had some submissions in formats that I cannot open and in some cases have no idea what they are without hitting google :)
ii) please code the story for LJ. That means that if you want to use bold and italics then you put in the relevant tags (< b > and < /b > to set words as bold, for example, but without the spaces). If you do it in Word, it will not copy across to LJ. If you do it in another word processing programme, chances are I'm going to be staring at the file extension going, 'Eh?'
While Claire and I have sorted out the coding on stories that were submitted earlier, there's now only a week to go and that means that unfortunately we simply will not have the time to fix it for you. You will therefore lose all of the formatting.
iii) please do not wait until the 24th to submit. Yes, I know that's the last day we post but as you may have noticed, we're posting four stories a day over the posting period, and I'm reserving the 24th for those kind souls who are pinch hitting and stepping in at the last moment. If everyone submits on the last day not only does it mean we run out of stories before then, but I'll be sitting on a couch somewhere, stuffing my face with chocolate and trying to get small people to bed so that Santa can come down the chimney, not trying to code 15 last minute submissions. If that happens then I will have to put on my cranky face, and that is never pretty.
To all those who commented on my last post, promising stories asap, thank you! Of course, I'll be even happier when they end up in Claire and/or my inboxes... ::hopeful look:: If I haven't replied, it's because LJ was being a pain in the ass last night and replying then screening comments again was virtually impossible, not because I was ignoring you :)
