What I love about gen fic is how subtle it is--all the layers and the intricacies and the suggestions. This reads like an episode, and I love the dark survivalist flashbacks contrasted with the merriment of the holiday. I love the use of snow in both realities.
I love how it's told mostly from Ronon's point of view. I've always loved his perspective.
Teyla is perfect. I feel her presence more than I do in most episodes! And Sheppard and McKay are enchanting and boyish and typical.
This whole story was very fun!
Love Ronon watching over all of them, and especially taking care of drunken, undignified Sheppard. Happy sigh. It's good to see a team like that.
