Sounds solid. My father told me, if you're starting to struggle, write the ending. It acts as a lighthouse.
An outline makes a story you can hang your hat on. I have a spreadsheet with the three main story threads in three columns, and the dates of when events happen in a fourth. I suspect I've used it to avoid writing sometimes, so it's downright anal retentive.
Drafting's the only way to write in my book. Do people not do drafts?
I've done several drafts of each scene as I've posted (going over them like a Zamboni), and I've had no qualms about confusing my readers by changing, adding, and deleting scenes I've already posted. *bright, evil grin* That's one reason it's only in my LJ, while the most up to date version is on my website. I treat a WiP as a public first draft although the individual scenes are in better shape.
The last 5% of the story I'm handing off to my most ruthless betas, where we'll make radical changes before posting the final.
