What a fantastic story! I just love the long, slow buildup of the relationship. Stories where the guys are friends first and the relationship just gets deeper and deeper.
Oblivious!Rodney is always great. It seems fitting that John had to be taken from them before he realized how important John is to him. Thank God they got him back!
When Sheppard finished, he sort of shook himself and looked around. Rodney expected him to make some kind of comment about how this must be the longest time Rodney had ever gone without speaking. But instead Sheppard turned a brilliant smile on him, touched his shoulder, and they walked the long walk back to the living quarters in silence.
I loved all the quiet little scenes, but the meaning in this one tugged at my heart. Rodney gave John the gift of listening...and John actually TALKED. Beautiful.
