I had a ball researching details to let him be more of an astrophysicist in this, because I'd been so interested as a teenager and then let it go and there was all sorts of stuff to catch up on. I'm all chuck full of ideas as a by-product, though a lot of them won't fit the Stargate universe, alas, as it only flirts with accuracy, gets its phone number and then never calls. Stargate says, 'Science? Pfft!'
Which is neat in its own way, when I'm tired and lazy and just want to handwave something.
