Hmm, yes. I actually wanted to end it on a somewhat lighter note, but got stuck with this ending. Every time I tried to re-write it, it simply felt wrong.
On the other hand, I decided that I had two other parts to write (so this story will actually fit in as the middle part) in which there will be someone for Ronon, too. And he seems to be the type to value the friendship of both Rodney and John enough that it might lessen the sadness over the loss of Rodney as a lover.
