In my notes I started a section on how the Will could feed off the electrical impulses in humans when it was too low on power to self-generate. It got cut because of time constraints but would have made the corpses in wall niches part make more sense as well as that last line.

Probably should have trimmed them off, too!

Anyway, the idea was that the Will would send it's "snack" request via the Pillar and one of his worshippers would be sent down to "serve". Or be served, I suppose. Does that help?
