What a great story -- a really convincing alien world and I could easily visualise its various locations. This is proper science fiction.

I almost fell off my chair when Rodney announced that he didn't have a science degree -- it's so much a part of him and it was interesting to see how this version of him in this tiny, limiting environment differed and also stayed the same.

I really enjoyed this story; it reads like the first part of a novel and I'd happily buy the rest of this book! Thanks for writing it.
