Oh! Thank you so much for writing this for me! I feel a little verklempt in a really good way. I've had a tough year, and an especially tough last month, and this story just felt so soothing and lovely -- exactly what I needed.

I love that you went back to the first season and that period of figuring each other out, learning to trust, and that kind of give and take. I also just really enjoyed the whole mood of the story - quiet, reflective, and sweet. You don't get to see that side of Rodney all that often in fic, and it's something I always enjoy seeing explored. And poor tired John! I really like your portrayal of his acceptance of what Rodney is doing for him here. It feels right for the situation, and for the time in their canon relationship. I will happily imagine the rest of their trip and where it might lead!
