I enjoyed the banter here, in a relationship I had not contemplated but which brings both John and Vala--with their insecurities, sarcasm and humor used as defense, innate decency, and imperfect social awareness--vividly to life. I also appreciated the ways in which they interacted wtih their own and each other's teams and referenced their past relationships (Nancy and Vala's husband).
