Very real, with those little hints of dissatisfaction mixed with overall contentment. I've never read this pairing before. This made me remember that in First Contact or Lost Tribe iirc, Radek is explaining something to John and says "I don't know if I can dumb it down enough"-- maybe they were experimenting with public humiliation then ;-)
