Ah, I see — I was thinking of the Colorado/Antarctica gate problem; I remembered the Pegasus gates defaulted to higher priority than the Milky Way gates, but I didn't really process/remember that they must also have gotten two gates able to work in close proximity, since Midway wasn't exactly huge.
