i don't know what to think. i didn't expect the end at all! i'm happy VR Rodney is okay in the end (sorta) and that he has a VR Jeannie with him, i'm sad the RL Rodney is dead, i can't even begin to guess how John must be feeling and, wow, had Rodney set it up that the AI would 'fall for' John and so have an extra incentive to protect Atlantis? is this a form of emotional manipulation? is it an extra complication? is it sm entirely unexpected that makes the AI Rodney 'alive'?
what i do know is that i loved how it's written, the way to builds and lets us glimpse some things and then unfolds and then twists and blossoms into a delightful reading experience.
