I just love the dynamics between the various female characters, including Teyla and the Murakati.

I love how you addressed the differences in culture. It is something that needed to be done more on the show IMO as it is by questioning oneself and one's society that one can grow. (In general, societies on Earth need to question themselves a whole lot more coz we're kinda stagnating on a civilisation front if you ask me).
