This was an amazing and captivating AU world, I could have read in this world forever, I think. Great descriptions of all these places, as if I was really seeing them - the revival tent, the dilapidated house John was squatting in, the compound they were held in, the alien planet as safehouse. Loved this John, so broken but still such a good man underneath it all, and his instant connection with Rodney was lovely.

And that's a fabulous reveal at the end that the healing ring really is about faith in a lot of ways, or a blend of faith and tech/science. Very cool.
