Thank you so very much! When I first thought of the kite thing, I was like, huh?!?! But as I let it sink in some more, and considered, John let me know that yes, this was indeed something he would do.:)

I'm thrilled you liked the characterization: I had a blast writing John and Rodney encountering each other for the first time. I'm also thrilled you liked the fact they each had their own issues -- they really, really do -- and that it was fulfilling for you when they found each other at last.:)
