Oh my goodness this was wonderful. The first thing that struck me was how delightful it was to have a non Renn Faire planet; and then you made the setting comfortable, rather than exotic, and it was wonderful. And Rodney's yearning - for John, for home (in whatever way) was so palpable; and you captured his caring and crankiness and *flails*

It's just great.
