I really love how solid John and Ronon's friendship comes across in this, that they can read each other so easily and that they know how to deal with each other. Honestly, this story would have been wonderful just with that as the focal point, but the John/Cam relationship (both John thinking about them together and the scenes where they actually are together) didn't feel tacked on or unnecessary at all.
Often in fanfic (and in traditional romance novels too, of course), you get the feeling that a person is only allowed to have one truly important person in their life, but here it is clear that what John has with Cameron is a real relationship, strong (especially for such a long-distance one) and healthy, but not detracting from the way he feels about his team at all.
Nice job of dealing with John's sense of violation too. There's not a healing cock in sight. ;)
