How could he be perfectly fine?
Well, he's not, of course. My whole goal with the story was pretty much to show that he's *not* perfectly fine -- how could he be? -- despite the fact that the show never deals with any of the ramifications of him being away from his home and his people for six whole months.* I think he'd have a hell of a lot of crap to deal with, not that he'll admit that to anyone. Physically, I think he's fine -- I think that actually fighting the Beast was probably the one thing that John *didn't* mind about being in the Cloister; fighting bad guys is what he does, after all, it's how he identifies, and he'd be happy to do it -- but emotionally, yeah - not so much.
*And I'd really, really love to see the show touch on that somehow, in the future. I know it's not likely, it isn't really that kind of show, but I'd love it just the same!
